*ACTION WEEK* Report Back; AFP/CCC Conference – Jam City Antifa

Same Ol’ Sh*t Again

This past weekend in Burns TN, another Fascist & Far-Right Conference was being held in Montgomery Bell State Park Inn & Conference Center. This time the American Freedom Party & Council Of Conservative Citizens put on a “Joint Conference” featuring the most disgusting names in the current American & International Nationalist scene.

As a response, Jam City Antifa organized a week of actions entitled “ACTION WEEK” to gain media traction & bring awareness to Nashville’s community of what kind of people were in their parks.

June 12th: Virgina Abernethy

The first day of “ACTION WEEK” focused on speaker Virginia Abernethy who is Professor Emeritus at Vanderbilt University. Despite Vanderbilt denying that she was inactive, Anti-Fascists were able to pin point her office & make a trip to her front door where it was documented.

After which, they went out to a bridge crossing to her office building & executed a banner-drop over the freeway.

June 14th: Vigil For Charlottesville & Lives Lost To Racism

Day 2 of “ACTION WEEK” was focused on honoring those who were hurt & effected in Charlottesville, by the Ku Klux Klan, & remembering the accomplishments of Anti-Fascist Action throughout history. A planned “Silent March & Vigil” became obsolete due to attendance, so Anti Fascists spent the day with one another, drinking, dancing, & laughing at how hard Richard Spencer got punched on Inauguration Day.

June 15th:

Unwelcome The AFP/CCC

June 15th was the first day of the AFP/CCC “Joint Conference” where many of the attendees were to arrive for check-in for the weekend’s events. Reports from fellow Anti-fascists on the ground indicated that the same “First Amendment Trap” ( “Protest” Zones, barricades, scan-downs etc.) from the American Renaissance Conference was being set-up in order to deter counter-protestors .

Anti Fascists took it upon themselves to prepare for the next day to decide the best course of action to proceed.

June 16th:

Oppose The Hate Rally & March

Day 4 was the final day of “ACTION WEEK” where a scheduled march & “rally” was to take place. Upon arrival an Anti-Fascist noticed the Tennessee Bureau Of Investigation (TBI) had setup a tent right beside the meetup location. This was speculated to be the result of the event being shared & promoted via Facebook , and reminiscent of the American Renaissance’s illegal car searches by the state. Anti-Fascists inbound to the location, were alerted & told to simply go into the ” First Amendment Trap” in order to avoid any chances for being criminalized & identified by association.

About an hour into the Counter Demonstration, numbers began to slowly trickle in. News-sources such as “RUPTLY” (RT) , “Washington Tribune”, Independent Journalist & local news stations were gathered closest to the Conference Center in a huddle where they were taking pictures of attendees going into the building. Amougnst doing various interviews, an independent group of young journalist had stated that from being in the conference center on the first day, one of their team members was targeted by a Fascist and called the “N” word. This was due inpart to his son being raped by a person of color, thus tharwting him towards right-wing nationalism, kicking the group out and stating that “he had a predjudice”.

Anti-Fascists would occasionally heckle the police on horse-back chanting “Animal Abuse!”, “Liberate The Horses!” & singing the “Storm Trooper” theme from “STAR WARS” whenever police on foot would march & drive past the crowd. A Black Officer was pulled to the side by one counter-demonstrator and asked if he “felt right” about protecting Far-Right Nationalists in which he responded “It was bullsh*t”.

Conference Attendees were met with “Boo’s” from the counter-demonstrators & a “Nazi Alert” by an Anti-Fascist with a siren-megaphone which rang so loud it echoed throughout the park & was heard by park-goers, & inside by conference attendees drawing more of them out, three of which were Jared Taylor, Rick Tyler & Micheal Hill.

Upon seeing the three leaders, Anti-Fascists decided to regroup their efforts, as it was now confirmed they were in attendance. A strategy to make their mark & presence known as well as troll the police began to surface within the group.

The notion of using Acorn Lake (which is overlooked by the Conference Center) became prominent as it was not in the “Protest Zone” & was currently being used by civilians providing perfect cover. A small group managed to rent a canoe & float to the back of M. B. State Park & held up a banner which read “God Condemns White Supremacy”.

The state repression of the AFP/CCC Conference is now a common tactic that we can expect to see whenever Fascists seek to use M.B. State Park. Being on the outside gives little effect but a diversity of tactics & quick ideal thinking comes in handy. At the moment, the best strategy is to work from the inside by talking to the workers, letting residents of Dickson know, & bringing media attention to whenever it happens. Making a presence & occupying/taking space away from Fascists is better than being silent or simply “ignoring” them.
